Installing Adobe Reader is a two-step process. First you download the installation package, and then you install Adobe Reader from that package file.
Before you install, make sure that your system meets the minimum system requirements.
Note:
If you're running Mac OS X 10.9 or later, install the latest version of Reader. For step-by-step instructions, see Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on Mac OS.
Select your operating system, a language, and the version of Reader that you want to install. Then click Download now.
When asked whether to open or save the .dmg file, select Save File, and then click OK.
Important: If you do not see this dialog box, another window could be blocking it. Try moving any other windows out of the way.
Double-click the .dmg file. If you don't see the Downloads window, choose Tools > Downloads.
If the download package doesn't appear in the Downloads window and a Thank You screen remains visible, click the download link on the Thank You screen.
Double-click the Adobe Reader [version] Installer.pkg to start the installation.
If a dialog box appears telling you to quit Reader, close Reader, and then click OK.
When the Install Adobe Reader dialog box appears, click Continue. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Reader.
Task: Install Adobe Reader DC on all domain computers, while deleting older versions. Allow updates to be applied automatically as well. Should I use the.exe file? Or where can I find an up to date.MSI file? I am unsure of how to delete older versions before applying the updated application. When you install or update Adobe Reader or Acrobat products, the Microsoft Windows Installer displays the following error:
'Error 1714: The older version of Adobe [Acrobat/Reader] cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.'
You sometimes also receive one of the following error messages:
The Microsoft Fix it wizard is available at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971187. The wizard updates the Windows registry so that you can usually uninstall previous versions of the program, or install or update the current version successfully.

If the error message allows you to browse to the .msi file, then complete the following steps:
Important: If you do not have the cached installer files, and you have a downloaded version of Acrobat, then redownload the installer. This information also applies to the tryout edition of Acrobat.
To repair Acrobat:
The installer information for the previous version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat is missing or has become corrupted. Removing the previous version allows Acrobat to install. Acrobat and Adobe Reader require this information to successfully install a newer version. Some registry cleaners or system maintenance tools can remove registry information needed by the installer and cause this error.
