The breakthrough open world Minecraft game quickly became popular among gamers in the world. This sandbox game involves creativity and wit to make it through and its gameplay involves interaction between player and various types of blocks in a randomly generated 3D setting.Spawning in the middle of nowhere, it is possible to create a whole world with just bare hands. Non-linear gameplay allows doing anything from constructing your own house for resting and respawning to discovering the endless space of this three-dimensional realm. The basic needs of any player come down to making tools out of natural resources, not forgetting to feed oneself as well as one's tamed pet, and mining. It's all about mining. Minecraft teaches that hardworking results in marvelous findings that improve weapons and even enable portals to other places. By the way, the in-game environment isn't that safe as it appears and doesn't necessarily consist of rather friendly creatures. Your character can come across various enemies and this is the situation where weaponry must be applied. A singleplayer mode is as much fun to play as multiplayer thanks to enormous mods and a huge worldwide game community.

Minecraft may not look like much from the outset – it’s an odd-looking blocky world where you start out with nothing and there are no set objectives. Play it once though and you’ll be hooked, trust me!
Minecraft is a sandbox video game developed by Mojang Studios. The game offers infinite possibilities from fighting zombies, surviving village raids (or illager raids, as they’re called!) to building everything from fortified medieval cities to tree houses to the Death Star!
Or you can just have a relaxing game where you mine or fell trees. You can really make the game your own.
With so many things to do and so many ways to play, it’s no surprise that Minecraft is the second most popular game in the world!
Yup, you read that right.
In September, 2014, Microsoft took note of the game’s popularity and bought it for a staggering $2.5 billion.
Crazy, right?
While Minecraft is an awesome game to play, it isn’t free.
If you don’t have to cash to spend on games right now or are just looking to save money, then you might be wondering how to get free Minecraft.
There are actually quite a few ways to get the game at no cost. I got it for free!
In this post, I’ll cover ways you can get Minecraft for free.
And I’ll cover how I got the game for my Xbox One without spending a penny!
There are two main editions of Minecraft, which are:
So the price of the game can vary.
The Java edition will set you back $26.95 or your local currency equivalent.
The Bedrock edition varies in price depending on which device you’re using. For example, you may pay just $6.99 for the game on your mobile device or $19.99 on a games console like the Xbox One.
Like I said you might not want to spend cash on the game. You may want to try it out for free or just not have the cash to spend.
Below, I’ll give you ways to get the Java and Bedrock edition for Minecraft for free.
I got the Bedrock version for free – and I’ll give you a step-by-step guide to how I did it!
To make things easier, I’ve broken this section down by device type. So you’ll be able to find exactly what you’re looking for.
The PC version of Minecraft is the original and many people prefer to play from their desktop device.
Thankfully, there are quite a few ways you can get MC at no cost for your PC. The version of the game that’s available for the PC is called the Java edition, as I briefly mentioned above.
Here’s how to download Minecraft for free…
Mojang, the company that created MC, is offering a free demo version of the game to PC users.
To get it, you’ll need to register for a Mojang account, which you can do here.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to download the Minecraft launcher, which you can do here.
The demo version of MC lasts five in-game days, which is about 100 minutes.
It’s not a super long time. It does, however, give you time to decide whether you like the game and if your PC can run MC before you decide to get the full game.
You can get Minecraft Classic for free on your PC.
This isn’t my favorite way to get the game, because it’s an old version from 2009.
That being said, you still get a free Minecraft download for PC.
With Minecraft Classic, you play the Creative mode of the game. Because it’s older, this version lacks some of the features you’ll find in more modern releases. Also, you’ll only able to use 32 blocks and you’ll have to deal with an older user interface, plus all of the old bugs.
If none of that bothers you and you just want a free version of Minecraft that you can play right from your browser, then you might want to give Minecraft Classic a try.
Start your Minecraft Classic game here.
If you don’t mind sharing your opinion, consider using Surveys On The Go. With it, you can make money taking surveys. You get paid $1 to $5 per surveys with some paying as much as $10 or more!
You can then have your cash sent to your PayPal account and or get it on an Amazon gift card. Use your gift card or PayPal cash to buy MC without emptying your bank account!
Here’s where you can get the app:
Don’t worry if you’re looking for a full version of the game that’s up to date, or if you don’t want to take surveys, there are plenty of ways to get MC for free!
For even more ways to get the game for free on your PC, please go to the “How to get Minecraft for free on any device” section.
I play the Bedrock version of MC on the Xbox One and have found it to be really great!
The best part is that I got the game for free.
In this section, I’ll cover ways you can get the game at no cost if you have a PlayStation or Xbox.
And of course, I’ll start out with how I managed to get the game for free first…
I’d highly recommend that you sign up for Microsoft Rewards if you’re looking to play Minecraft on your Xbox. The Bedrock Edition of the game is awesome. It’s the one that I have and I got it for free because I used Microsoft Rewards.
Here’s my step-by-step guide for using MR to get Minecraft for free:
If you don’t already know, Microsoft Rewards is a rewards program that will give you points when you search the internet using Bing or Microsoft Edge.
You can earn even more points by taking daily quizzes and doing other easy tasks.
I find that it’s a pretty fun program and the points rack up quickly, particularly if you search a lot online, as I do for my work research.
You can sign up for Microsoft rewards here.
Just start searching and doing quizzes to earn points.
Once you have enough points, you’ll be able to redeem them for gift cards in the rewards store.
I found a gift card that gave me GamePass for free. GamePass is basically like Netflix for games. You pay a monthly fee and get access to a library of games you can play for free. Thanks to my gift card though I didn’t have to spend a penny to unlock the library.
So I got the gift card and got access to all of the games that came along with my free GamePass membership.
And this included Minecraft.
I could play Minecraft and all of the other games in the catalog without spending a penny!
Awesome, right?
Please keep in mind that the titles available with GamePass do change, so depending on when you sign up, the game may not be available.
Also the country you live in will determine which games are available to you.
If at the time you come to sign up, Minecraft isn’t featured in the GamePass library, then there’s another way to use Microsoft rewards to get the game for free.
I’ve used this tip as well.
Like I said above, Microsoft Rewards gives you points you can redeem for gift cards. There are lots of gift card types available, including ones for the Xbox store. I’ve gotten gift cards so many times and I’ve been able to use them to get a discount on games or get them for free.
Remember Mojang gave PC users a free demo of the game?
Well, console users aren’t left out.
You can also find free demo versions of Minecraft for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
You can find the MC demo for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 through the Xbox Store.
And you can find the demo versions of MC for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in the PlayStation Store.
Just search the store for the word “Minecraft.”
It’s important to note that the demo versions for consoles are limited to the tutorial level. And you can’t save your game progress either.
What if you want to play Minecraft on the go? Well, then you may want to get the mobile version. It’s available for both iPhones and Android phones too.
You’ll get access to the Bedrock edition of the game and all of the fun that comes along with it!
Sadly, there’s no demo version available for phones, like there is for the PC and gaming consoles. Don’t worry though! There’s another option for getting MC at no cost!
Here’s where you can get Minecraft for free on your phone…
You can get Minecraft for free on your Android device by using the Current Music app.
As explained in our Current Music app review, this app pays you for listening to music. Yes, you read that right. You can choose from more than 100,000 radio stations!
You can also earn for:
You can then redeem your earnings for a gift card to the Google Play Store where you can get your hands on a copy of MC for your phone at no cost!
For even more ways to get the game for free on your phone, please go to the “How to get Minecraft for free on any device” section.
In this section, I have some tips that will help you to get either the Java or the Bedrock edition at no cost.
Here you’ll find tips that’ll get you the game across various devices, like:
Awesome, right?
Here’s how you can get a copy of the game at no cost on any device…
Swagbucks will give you points when you do tasks online. And a lot of these are fun tasks too.
Besides getting paid to play games (which if you’re reading this post, it should be right up your alley!), you can also earn by:
Once you have enough points, you’ll be able to redeem them for sweet rewards like gift cards for:
Or you can just have your cash sent right to PayPal.
Then, you guessed it; you’ll be able to use your free cash or gift card to buy the full version of MC, without having to take it from your own bank account!
Using GrabPoints, you could get MC for free on your:
I’ve said it before but GrabPoints is one of the best-reviewed rewards platforms out there. It has a 4-star rating on Trustpilot and an A rating with the BBB.
I have a full review of the website and app if you want to check that out here.
It makes our list today though because it actually offers Minecraft gift codes as a redemption option.
And it offers gift cards for the Google Play Store, App Store, and the Xbox Store too.
GrabPoints gives you points when you do tasks, like:
Once you’ve accumulated 2,000 points, you can claim a Minecraft Code at the GrabPoints rewards store. The code is then emailed to you and it’s yours to spend!
Just login to your Mojang account on Minecraft.net and you’ll be able to redeem the code for a free copy of the game for your PC. If you don’t already have a Mojang account you can just head on over to Minecraft.net to create one, and it won’t cost you anything.
Or you can get a gift card for the Google Play Store, App Store, and Xbox store and use it to get a free copy of the game for your device.
One of my favorite ways to get free games like Minecraft is to use Qmee. It’s a really awesome website and app that pays you instantly!
Yes, there’s no waiting around for your payments.
There’s no cash-out minimum meaning you can withdraw your earnings at any time.
Qmee will pay you for:
Once you’ve earned enough money to pay for MC, just withdraw your earnings!
You can send them right to your PayPal account and then use that money to buy the game for whatever device you prefer.
Also, you can get gift cards for the App store, so if you’re looking to get the game on your iPhone, then that option could work for you!
That’s not all though. Qmee also offers Amazon gift cards as a redemption option. Since you can purchase many different versions of MC on Amazon, this is another great option to consider.
Qmee really does give you so many options for getting the game at no cost!
With FeaturePoints, you can earn points for:
Then you can redeem your points for tons of different rewards like:
Great, right?
It’s such a fun way to get a copy of the game without having to pay anything for it! And its app is one of the best apps to earn free gift cards.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to play MC but don’t have the cash to spare?
Luckily, there are lots of methods for getting the game for nothing!
They are super simple and can get you the game on any device from your PC to your Xbox to your iPhone.
If you’ve been wondering how to get free Minecraft, give these tips a try.
